“You’re a kite dancing in a hurricane Mr. Bond” – Spectre

“Then you’re obviously crazy, Mr.?”

“Bond, James Bond.”

Don’t you always love the new James Bond movie? I do! The thing with the Bond movies is; you either love them and get it, or you don’t. I haven’t seen all of the classics, but I have kept up with the new versions since high school. The Bond movies always have the same key story points; the super hot 007, the car, the gadgets, the opening scene, and the girl. Spectre has all of these classic traits plus it’s also a great movie.

The opening scene features creative and outstanding visual effects this time. I feel the last few Bond movies missed out on their long opening display of credits. In Spectre, the scene is very modern and unique. I really liked it. The song is by Sam Smith, titled Writings on the Wall. It’s no Skyfall by Adele, but it’s good, especially towards the end of the song.

The plot begins in Mexico City on The Day of the Dead. The costumes are magnificent, with the skeleton masks and face painting. The story grows into a life altering event for our 007 and the entire “double O” program. Will Bond defeat the villain and save the program? Your guess is probably correct.

Daniel Craig is Bond, and a very hot and charming one at that. The Bond girl is Lea Seydoux, a French actress, and she plays the Bond girl precisely perfect. The other supporting cast is first-class, including the psychotic villain, Christoph Waltz, an Austrian-German actor. Of course this version also has the cars. Daniel Craig gets to drive the silver Aston Martin DB10 and the villains drive the orange Jaguar C-X75.

If I had to compare Spectre with the past few Bond movies, I would say I like Spectre the most. It has a present and contemporary vibe that was missing in Skyfall and Casino Royale. In addition, the plot line has more history and depth and I enjoyed the new twists in the story. If you like Bond movies, go see this one on the big screen, it’s worth it. Have you seen it yet?
