“You gotta be greater than the haters.” – Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

We’ve always loved the Hotel Transylvania franchise and were very excited to see the third installment, which hit theaters July 13, 2018, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.

The same monster crew is back with Adam Sandler voicing Count Dracula and Selena Gomez voicing his daughter Mavis.

Here is the summary from the Web:

“In Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, join our favorite monster family as they embark on a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship so Drac can take a summer vacation from providing everyone else’s vacation at the hotel. It’s smooth sailing for Drac’s Pack as the monsters indulge in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to exotic excursions, and catching up on their moon tans. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monsterkind.”

While this movie is different than the first two, we all still loved it!

There are jokes for the kids and the adults that had us all laughing out loud. Nothing too inappropriate for a younger audience which is always nice. The animation is different for this version, the characters have been revamped and are more colorful and vibrant. The plot timing is different too, it reminds me of another Adam Sandler movie Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2.

The message in the movie is to love everyone no matter what there differences. This is such a great theme for a children’s movie and really hit home with my kids.

There were a few moments where the kids started to get a little bored and got the wiggles, but overall Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is a terrific summer family flick. We would definitely recommend it!
