“The last word always belongs to the mountain” – Everest the Movie

Wow, this movie was intense! I don’t normally go and see this type of movie but my husband convinced me to go. It is based on a true story of an expedition group who made their attempt to summit Mount Everest on May 10, 1996. The group is hit with a ferocious blizzard and the team must battle all odds to get back to safety.

Being from Texas I don’t do snow. I also don’t do heights. So needless to say this movie almost through me into a full scale panic attack. If you enjoy intense, suspenseful, death defying plot lines, this is the movie for you! I on the other hand would much rather relax at the movies and not feel like I need a Xanax to get through it.

I am glad they did the movie, however, and were able to show the story of this amazing team and their hardships. These people were professional climbers. Mother Nature had a different plan for them that day, and their sacrifices should be known. The families of the lost climbers are still alive today, and I am glad that people could know their story. If you ever consider climbing a mountain covered in snow, watch this movie first! And then maybe change your mind and stay home instead. Have you seen the movie? What did you think?
