new favorites – the Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques

One of my new must have make up products is the Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques. You may have seen them around and wondered, what in the world are these little orange things everywhere? Let me tell you, this little orange sponge is truly a foundation miracle!
I have always used a liquid foundation and I applied it with those little triangle tan sponges. You know, the ones that come in a multi pack, and you tear a new one off for almost every new use. I had no problems with my little triangle sponges for most of my life. Until one day my Mom had me try the Miracle Complexion Sponge. Once I used this little orange thingy, I was blown away by how easily, smoothly, and evenly my foundation was applied. The coverage was amazing. There was no caking or heavy foundation look. It blended my foundation flawlessly.
Now that I have used the Miracle Complexion Sponge I won’t be using anything else to apply my foundation. They are definitely pricier than the multi pack sponges I used to buy. Each one will run you about $6. However, they last 1-3 months and hold a lot of foundation in them. You won’t need to switch one out for a long long time.
Real Techniques doesn’t just sell Complexion Sponges. They have a whole line of sponges and brushes for makeup application. The creators, Sam and Nic, even have a full line of helpful YouTube videos for makeup application. I love watching videos for help with my makeup. I definitely can use all the help I can get. 😉
Below is Real Techniques’ YouTube video on the Miracle Complexion Sponge. Check it out! (P.S. You can only see the video on the Web, not in your Email)

Wonderful right? My favorite part of the video is Sam describes how you can use the different sides and shapes of the sponge to apply foundation, concealer, and even powder.
From the Real Techniques Website:
- rounded sides blend large areas of the face with a dabbing motion
- precision tip covers blemishes and imperfections
- flat edge for contouring around the eyes and nose
- ideal for liquid foundation
- latex-free
I have purchased my Miracle Complexion Sponges at Ulta and Kohls for two for $11. Has anyone else tried these? What do you think? Where did you find them?

I have a couple of these and absolutely love them – they are the perfect dupe for the original beauty blender!
Thanks Alice! I agree!
Thanks for this post. I have been using a beauty blender sponge from Limelight and a sponge blender really has been a game changer! I’ll have to check this brand out.
Try it! I totally agree, it’s a game a game changer and so easy.
