my favorite cheddar ranch dip

Here is a secret you may not know about me – my skills do not lie in the kitchen. It’s not that I don’t value nutrition or well prepared meals, I just don’t enjoy making them myself, nor am I that great at it. Do NOT ask me to bake cookies or I may have a panic attack. (I know this from experience). If you’re wondering how I feed my family, well, that’s a long story, and eventually I’ll get around to telling you all about it, but…not today.

Now, of course there are times in life when I’m asked to prepare food. For example, Christmas Day or Thanksgiving, or when I’m hosting a party. If catering is not an option (and I always ask this question first), I will look for recipes with the least amount of stove/oven time.

Hence my love of cheese boards 🙂

One recipe that I always make is this super simple Veggie Dip. It tastes amazing! I brought it to Thanksgiving this year as my assigned dish of “appetizer,” and even my talented Aunts were asking me for the recipe for their next gathering. (There is a slight chance they were just trying to boost my confidence in the cooking area, but it still felt great!)

I found this Veggie Dip recipe from the Food Network years ago. It is a classic Sandra Lee recipe and has three ingredients.

You can view the full recipe here.

All you need for this dip is the following:

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cheese dip (I use Tostitos brand cheese dip OR the Tostitos brand salsa con queso dip)

1 envelope Ranch dressing mix

Mix them all together and volia! The BEST dip ever. Cut up some colorful veggies to go with it, maybe add a Holiday platter, and you’re done!

Queso + Ranch = Heaven

Here is the dish I served at Thanksgiving this year. I put the dip in a cute Turkey bowl from Target. Fancy and easy!

So if you need an easy and impressive dip that even the kids will love, try this one, and be sure to let me know what you think!
