Movie List: December 2018

Movie List: December 2018

My must see films for December 2018:

The Mule

December 14, 2018

Broke, alone and facing foreclosure on his business, Earl Stone takes a job as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. His immediate success leads to easy money and a larger shipment that soon draws the attention of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. When Earl’s past mistakes start to weigh heavily on his conscience, he must decide whether to right those wrongs before law enforcement and cartel thugs catch up to him.

I’ve always liked Clint Eastwood and I can’t believe he is still doing movies! I’m not sure if this will be my kind of movie, it reminds me of Breaking Bad,  which was not my thing, but it still looks pretty good. I’m sure my husband will LOVE it!

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

December 14, 2018

Bitten by a radioactive spider, teenager Miles Morales suddenly develops mysterious powers that transform him into Spider-Man. He must now use his newfound skills to battle the Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other dimensions.

I’ve seen the trailer for this movie a few times and at first I didn’t want to see it, but each time I see the trailer its looking better and better. I really like how there are Spider-Men from each alternate Universe and they are all different. I’m sure my boys, ages 10 & 11, will love it.

Mary Poppins Returns

December 19, 2018

The mysterious Mary Poppins returns to Depression-era London to visit Jane and her brother Michael, now a father of three, and helps them rediscover the joy they knew as children.

While I have never been a huge Mary Poppins fan, I love Emily Blunt, so I am adding this to my must see list for December. I think before I take the kids to see it, we all need to sit down and watch the first Mary Poppins so we can compare. I’m really hoping this version is more entertaining than the first one.

Aquaman

December 21, 2018

Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt.

Umm, yes, Aquaman please! I love the actor Jason Momoa, so I am definitely on board with Aquaman. Not really sure how the movie will be, but I really don’t care, haha. I want to see it!

Bumblebee

December 21, 2018

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town. Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns that this is no ordinary yellow Volkswagen.

Have you seen this trailer?? It looks like its going to be a pretty action packed movie! Bumblebee has always been one of my favorite Transformers. I’m curious about his story, I definitely want to see this one!

Welcome to Marwen

December 21, 2018

When a devastating attack shatters Mark Hogancamp (Steve Carell) and wipes away all memories, no one expected recovery. Putting together pieces from his old and new life, Mark meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal and be heroic. As he builds an astonishing art installation—a testament to the most powerful women he knows—through his fantasy world, he draws strength to triumph in the real one. In a bold, wondrous and timely film, Welcome to Marwen shows that when your only weapon is your imagination…you’ll find courage in the most unexpected place.

This movie looks really interesting. It’s based on a true story, and I can’t tell if its a drama or a comedy, maybe a little bit of both. This is one that I am sure will get a ton of awards and is worth seeing.

Holmes & Watson

December 21, 2018

Detective Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson join forces to investigate a murder at Buckingham Palace. They soon learn that they have only four days to solve the case, or the queen will become the next victim.

Are we finished with this comedic duo? Do you think they’ve done every funny thing they can think of, or will we see some new comedy to make us love this duo all over again? I’m not sure?? I loved them in Talladega Nights and laughed out loud in Stepbrothers. Let’s see if they can do it again!
