“For better, for worse?”

The much anticipated release of Colleen Hoover’s new novel, It Ends With Us, released August 2nd, and is making huge waves for all Hoover fans. The average rating on this book is 4.9 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and 4.64 out of 5 on Goodreads. On my reading scale I definitely give it a 5 out of 5.
The story follows Lily Bloom, a small town girl from Maine, as she moves to Boston to accomplish her dreams. When she meets Ryle Kincaid, a handsome neurosurgeon, her whole foundation starts to rock. Not to mention her childhood love, Atlas Corrigan, comes back into her life at the most unexpected time. Lily is forced to make extremely hard decisions when it comes to love, life, and her future.
Colleen Hoover writes a very personal story in It Ends With Us. Her writing, as usual, is clever, heart warming, and entertaining. Below are some of my favorite quotes.
“That’s what fifteen minutes can do to a person. It can destroy them. It can save them.”
“Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break.” “It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern.”
“Preventing your heart from forgiving someone you love is actually a hell of a lot harder than simply forgiving them.”
“There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.”
“Just because we didn’t end up on the same wave, doesn’t mean we aren’t still a part of the same ocean.”
When I started It Ends With Us I had no idea what to expect. I went into the book blind having no idea what it was about. Halfway through the book I was still a little confused. It wasn’t until the end of the book that everything came together for me. I can compare this moment to a cytoplasmic shock. I can still feel when it happened. The shock took my breath away, hurt my heart, and scarred my soul. When I consider the weight of this story, I can’t help but feel pain in my chest and tears on my cheeks. It Ends With Us will stay with me always, and I hope that I have to ability to share it with as many women as possible in my life time.
I am a proud subscriber of The Bookworm Box, Colleen Hoover’s charity book store. In my August Bookworm Box was a signed copy of It Ends With Us. I’m hosting a giveaway for this copy plus some great Bookworm Box goodies. The giveaway is International and will end on September 14th. Good Luck!!
