“The worlds waitin’ for ya kid.” — Ralph Breaks the Internet

My family and I really enjoyed the first Wreck it Ralph film so we were super excited to see the sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet. Sometimes when you are really excited to see a movie, once you see it you are disappointed, but that was not the case this time!
Here is the synopsis I from the website:
“Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, “Sugar Rush.” In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet — the netizens — to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube.“
Ralph Breaks the Internet is full of entertainment! This is a high-packed action film that keeps the kids and adults fully engaged. The graphics are large and colorful.
Since Ralph and Vanellope go to the Internet, you see many familiar Internet based companies such as Pinterest, Google, EBay, and more. I’ve never seen the Internet brought to life in this creative way. Even the pop-up ads have a personality!
This film is edgy in its content, throwing a bunch of new relevant topics at the audience. It introduces a story that relates to the technology era of our youth and talks about topics such as the purpose of the Internet, and even posting videos for likes and the negative comments that can occur.
The Disney Princesses make an appearance and they are perfect! Vanellope helps them to be their true selves and they end up working together to save the Hero. Woman power anyone?! Loved it!
There is also a lot of positive messaging in the film and some good lessons in chasing your dreams and being a good friend.
There is nothing too inappropriate but this film does have some adult humor thrown in (which is pretty funny for the adults!) The ending is high action, so it may be a little much for the smallest movie goers. It’s not scary or dark just intense.
All three of my kids (boys ages 10 and 11, and a girl age 8) loved the movie. My husband and I really liked it too. My favorite part, other then seeing the Disney Princesses, was definitely seeing a fresh new movie about relevant topics for the 2018 kid.
