“Life and love and people become ugly.”

Colleen Hoover wows us again in Ugly Love. This love story between Tate and Miles Archer is sweet, sexy, and oh so satisfying.

Miles, an airline pilot, has vowed to never love again after a horrific tragedy left him broken and lonely. When his best friend’s sister, Tate, moves in across the hall, Miles is forced to have feelings he thought he’d buried forever.

Colleen depicts Miles’ version of the story in poetry. His writing is straight from the heart.

“She’s like poetry.

Like prose and love letters and lyrics, cascading down

the

center

of

a

page.”

-Miles

“Don’t ask about my past,” he says firmly. “And never expect a future.” – Miles

“Because he’s solid and I’m liquid, and right now, I’m just his wake.” – Tate

I love the message in this book. Here is my favorite quote that sums up what I took from reading Miles’ and Tate’s story.

“And I realized…just now…that God gives us the ugliness so we don’t take the beautiful things in life for granted.” – Miles

    1. Oh really? I loved the book too, I loved how Miles wrote in poetry. I mean, no guy would ever really do that right? But it was still sweet. It was definitely different than her other books. I wish she would have expanded on Tate’s character a little more. Looking forward to the movie. What left you unsure??

      1. I think I just didn’t really like Tate. I found it a little unbelievable that she was supposed to be an ER nurse. I thought they would be more able to cope with things. I also thought the relationship between her and Miles was unhealthy and borderline abusive.

  1. I loved this book- really loved it (I am Colleen Hoover obsessed!). Patiently, or not-so-patiently, waiting for more updates about the movie! I cannot wait!
